We get support for sports like cricket, tennis, Kabaddi, etc. However, no one wants to go into such a field. Even girls are less daring. We don't see it as just a passion. We will represent India at the international level, flying our flag where no one has soared. During mountain climbing, sometimes accidents happen right in front of our eyes. Two members of our team died in front of my eyes. In such a case we should not panic. It's like a brain game. Fitness deserves more attention. I also work out for five to six hours a day. 20-30 kg for mountaineers. Ability to carry a backpack is required.

Only 8 Hours

The distance from last camp to the top of the mountain was 1,600 m. It was supposed to reach the top by 10-11 am. Climbing after 11 am is difficult. So, it is more suitable to go at midnight. It took only 8 hours to cross!

11-member squad

Nandita reached the summit with the spirit of India, being one of two Indians in an 11-member team, representing ASEAN and raising our country's profile.

The Kilimanjaro route is the most difficult. Nandita selected On the way to ‘Machame’ not even a single step can be climbed. The mountaineers make camps at places and go to the mountain step by step. The distance from one of these camps to the top of the mountain is 1,600 m. It was 10-11 in the morning. It’s hard to get past 11. Therefore, it is better to go at night. 1600 m. It only took 8 hours! Kilimanjaro, the volcano of the equator. It’s hotter and sunnier. On walking a little distance sweat starts flowing profusely. Nandita walked in such a strange atmosphere, so cold that her body would freeze if she took a long rest. Taking a break of 3-4 minutes, he touched the Indian flag on the top of the mountain. Nandita is one of the two Indians in the 11-member team. They have represented the country of ASEAN and enhanced the prestige of our country on that platform.

Carstensz Pyramid

First Women to Climb 

Starting from Bengaluru, our journey to Carstensz Pyramid in Australia was a new and challenging experience. Each day, we walked 15 km, climbed and descended hills, and crossed streams, encountering wild animals along the way. The expedition, which lasted from May 28 to June 28.

4888 Meters Dangerous Peak

Carstensz Pyramid is the highest mountain in Australia and one of the most dangerous peaks. Reaching its summit at 4,888 meters is more challenging than climbing Everest

Adverse weather conditions, steep and difficult paths, and temperatures ranging from -5 to -10 degrees Celsius made the climb to the summit very tough.

Mount Elbrus

Mountaineering is more challenging for women than men, but it is not impossible. Elbrus was very different from my previous three climbs, with a long route and dangerous turns. Next up is the climb of an Atlantic mountain.

Mount Elbrus is the highest peak of Europe, though it is located in Russia and the height of the mountain is 5,651 metres (18,600 ft). Nandita along with four others, including her guide Andre achieved the feat.

On September 6, mountaineer Nandita Chandrasekhara Naganagoudar achieved another record by ascending Russia's 5,651-meter Elsus peak in just eight days.
